Chaplain’s Chatter

Good day Everyone
I would love to highlight another great resource for families dealing with separation offered by Anglicare WA. The courses are FREE and there are different ways you can make use of the workshops, whether it is in person or via zoom in the comfort of your own home.
The following courses are being offered:
- Co-parenting peacefully : The Co-Parenting Peacefully series comprises of three sessions each focusing on a different topic. The sessions provide information, tools and strategies that will help you to work toward co-parenting peacefully from a child-centered approach.
- Thrive after Separation : Separation and divorce can be one of the most stressful and overwhelming times in life. This is an interactive 3-week program to navigate your new circumstances post separation with clarity and increased strength so you can support your children to thrive. The program is an opportunity to spend time with other parents and discover ways to: • Make sense of it all and begin to process emotions • Develop Self-care plans and Support Networks • Learn to challenge negative self-talk • Rediscover who you are and identify your strengths • Clarify goals and priorities for the future and develop action plans • Become comfortable with change, taking control of self-talk, forgiveness and get inspired for a brighter future
- Transforming anxiety into resilience for children : Changes that occur through family separation can trigger anxiety in many children and teens. The good news is that anxiety is manageable, important adults in a child’s life have the profound capacity to strengthen children and teens against anxiety.
- When anger is calling the shots : The experience of parental separation or divorce often involves intense feelings of anger. Join in this two-hour session to learn helpful ways to manage your anger, transform it into compassionate power and move towards a place of acceptance.
Some off the courses have already run this term, however, they will all be offered again next term.
